TDS Contractors has waterproofed some of Johannesburg's most demanding structures, from OR Tambo International Airport to the Steyn City residential estate. We work across the city on commercial, industrial and high-end residential projects — specifying, installing and guaranteeing systems that have to survive Highveld weather for decades.
Johannesburg sits on the Highveld at roughly 1,750m, and that altitude is hard on waterproofing. Intense UV at this elevation degrades exposed membranes faster than at the coast, while the summer storm season delivers sudden, high-volume downpours followed by rapid drying. The daily temperature swing — often 20°C between night and afternoon — makes substrates expand and contract continuously, and it is that thermal movement, not the rain itself, that opens most failed joints and cracks. Systems specified for Johannesburg need genuine UV stability and enough elongation to absorb daily movement without splitting.
TDS Contractors works throughout Johannesburg and the surrounding Gauteng region, and nationwide across South Africa. Work elsewhere in Africa is undertaken on request.
